What is Accounts, and how can my business use it?

Accounts lets you give customers their own branded account area through a Hub site. Customers can sign in, access services, manage their details and look after their subscriptions in one place. You manage the site and its settings from Hub. Your customers use the account pages you publish. ### What can customers do? Depending on your setup, customers can: - View and update their profile. - Open services connected to their account. - View subscriptions, invoices and payment information. - Manage an organisation account and invite teammates. - Access pages reserved for members or customers with a particular subscription. You choose which pages to provide and who can access them. ### How does Accounts fit into my website? Accounts is part of **Sites**. Its pages use the same editor, branding and publishing tools as your website. You can add account pages to an existing site or create a dedicated account site. For example, your public website might explain your services while a separate account area gives existing customers somewhere to sign in. ### What does the sign-in page look like? The account sign-in page uses a centred, email-first layout that matches Hub's own sign-in experience. Your site's configured logo appears above the form — using the light or dark variant automatically based on the visitor's system preference. Sites without a logo display the site name instead. Password sign-in, password visibility toggle, password reset, Google sign-in, account creation and invite-only restriction all work through the same compact layout. ### Does every customer need a paid subscription? No. Accounts supports free customer access, approved memberships and paid services. Free Hub workspace members are recognised independently — they see their available Hub service without needing a paid subscription. The services page shows a neutral explanation for customers who have no active services; it does not imply that a subscription is required. A customer's identity, membership and subscription are separate. Creating an account does not automatically purchase a plan or grant access to every service. You control access through your registration settings, page permissions and connected services. ### Are customer accounts the same as Hub workspace members? No. Your Hub workspace is where your staff manage the business. Customer accounts belong to the customer-facing account area. A customer signing up for your account site does not make them a member of your internal Hub workspace. Accounts is useful when you want a consistent place for customers to manage their relationship with your business, especially when you provide memberships, subscriptions or several connected services. ### Examples of how your business could use Accounts - **A training business offering a member resource library** Give learners an account where they can access course materials and resources. Make introductory content available to all members and reserve premium resources for customers with the relevant subscription. - **A consultancy with a private client area** Invite clients to a branded account site where they can access member-only guidance and connected services. Use approval-required registration if you want to review each customer before granting access. - **A software business with several connected apps** Give customers one place to sign in, see the apps available to them and manage their subscriptions. Each app needs to be connected to Accounts so it can recognise the customer and their access. - **A business selling subscriptions to teams** Let a customer organisation share an account across several employees. Its customer administrator can invite teammates, while members with billing permission manage subscriptions and payments. - **A service with both free and paid access** Allow customers to register for free resources, then offer subscriptions for additional services or content. Free workspace members can access their available services without needing a paid plan.
