Add formatted text, images and columns to a site section

Site text blocks support sanitised Markdown, uploaded or linked images, and up to three independently editable columns. Existing plain-text blocks keep their appearance automatically. ## Open the text block editor 1. Open **Sites** in your workspace. 2. Select the site and page you want to edit. 3. Select **Edit sections**. 4. Find the section that contains the text block. 5. Select the text block to open its settings in the drawer. ## Apply Markdown formatting The compact editor provides a single formatting toolbar. Common Markdown is supported, including: - **Bold** and *italic* text - Headings (H1–H3) - Bullet and numbered lists - Blockquotes - Inline code and code blocks - Links - Horizontal rules - Tables Select text and choose a style from the toolbar, or type Markdown syntax directly. Select **Preview** in the toolbar to see how the formatted text will appear to visitors before saving. ## Use Markdown tables You can add tables using standard Markdown syntax: ``` | Column one | Column two | Column three | |---|---|---| | Row 1 | Data | Data | | Row 2 | Data | Data | ``` Hub renders tables with padded bordered cells, themed headers, preserved alignment, and horizontal scrolling for wide tables. Tables render correctly in record content areas, rich-text blocks and the editor preview — in both light and dark themes. Alignment is preserved: add `:` to the divider row to left-align, right-align, or centre a column (e.g. `|:---|---:|:---:|`). ## Insert an image 1. Position the cursor where you want the image. 2. Open the **Insert** menu in the formatting toolbar. 3. Choose **Image**. 4. Either: - **Upload an image** — select a file from your device. Supported formats are JPG, PNG, WebP and SVG, up to 8 MB. Hub stores the image and inserts it into the block. - **Link an image** — paste a public image URL. Hub validates the URL before inserting it; invalid or inaccessible URLs are rejected. 5. Optionally add alt text for accessibility. Advanced image options are available under **Design & spacing** in the collapsed **Advanced options** panel. ## Add columns A text block can contain up to three columns. Each column is independently editable and has its own formatting toolbar. To add columns: 1. Open the block's **Layout** settings (under **Design & spacing**). 2. Choose the number of columns: 1, 2 or 3. 3. Each column appears as a separate editing area. **On mobile**, columns stack vertically in the order they appear in the editor — the leftmost column appears first. **Reducing columns** retains the content from the removed columns. For example, switching from three columns to two keeps all three columns' text; the third column's content moves into the second column. ## Use the drawer layout The text block drawer is designed to stay usable on narrow screens: - **Content** and formatting controls scroll independently within the drawer. - **Shared reuse and save controls** are pinned below a divider at the bottom with a capped footer height. - The **Sections** back action is in the drawer header. - Layout and typography options live under **Design & spacing**, collapsed by default. - Image insertion and advanced options remain collapsed until needed. The editor follows Hub's light and dark themes, with matching surfaces and consistent chevrons throughout. ## Preview and save 1. Use **Preview** in the toolbar to review the rendered output. 2. When the content is correct, select **Save** in the drawer footer. 3. To make the change live, publish the site from the main site editor. ## Compatibility with existing blocks Existing plain-text blocks retain their appearance without any changes needed. The new editor features are additive — switching to Markdown or adding columns does not affect blocks you have not edited.
