Edit a Site with the Sites editor

The Sites editor gives you persistent navigation and focused controls so you can edit sections, adjust design settings, and manage your page layout without losing your place. ## Open the editor 1. Open **Sites** in your workspace. 2. Select the Site you want to edit. 3. Choose **Edit** to open the inspector. The editor opens at 520px wide (widening from the previous 360px). The canvas adjusts automatically when the viewport has room. ## Site Home dashboard When you open a site, the **Home** tab gives you an at-a-glance overview without opening the editor: - **Traffic metrics** — daily visitors, page views and sessions for the last 30 days, drawn from your linked analytics source. - **Pages count** — total pages and how many are included in the next release. - **Traffic status** — whether analytics is collecting, paused, awaiting a first visit, or not yet connected. - **Agent status** — whether a site agent is assigned, running, completed, or needs attention. From the Home tab you can jump directly to **Analytics**, **Agent**, **Pages**, **Orders** and other management sections without navigating through the main tab strip. If analytics is not yet connected, the traffic card shows **Not connected** and links to the Analytics tab. ## Site tabs The site workspace is organised into tabs across the top: | Tab | What it contains | |---|---| | **Home** | Traffic metrics, agent status and direct actions. | | **Analytics** | Per-site traffic reports, conversions, events and troubleshooting. | | **Pages** | All pages in this site, with add and manage options. | | **Content health** | Readiness checks for published records and metadata (sales sites only). | | **Design** | Site-wide design settings. | | **Agent** | Site agent setup, assessments and proposals. | | **Orders** | Searchable shop order table (if commerce is enabled). | | **Members** | Customer access management (customer portals only). | | **Settings** | General settings, Publishing & versions, and Domains. | Tab selection is remembered in the URL, so you can share or bookmark a specific tab. ## Editor theme A compact **System / Light / Dark** selector appears at the right of the editing toolbar. Use it to switch the editor's appearance independently of the public site preview — the selected mode is kept consistent with the preview canvas and remains accessible at narrow widths. The editor uses Hub's shared theme tokens throughout, so controls stay readable in both light and dark mode. ## Preserve unsaved header drafts When you close the editing drawer and reopen it, Hub retains your unsaved changes. For example, if you start editing a hero section, close the drawer to check another part of the page, and then reopen it, your draft text is still there. Changes are not saved to the site until you select **Save to draft**. ## Starter hero on new sites New sites display a starter hero before any pages have been created. Edits you make to this starter hero are now saved to the site draft. When you create the first page, Hub copies the starter sections into that page automatically, so your initial edits are not lost. ## Persistent page outline The section outline stays visible as you edit. It lists: - Section headings. - Collection names for data-driven sections. Use **Jump to section** to scroll the canvas to any section. Use **Show on page** to make a section visible if it is currently hidden. ## Navigate between sections A single-row section navigator appears at the top of the inspector. Select any section to open its settings directly. Click **Edit** on a canvas section label to jump to that section's controls. ## Separate Content and Design views Each section's settings are split into two focused views: - **Content** — text, images, collection data, and other editorial settings. - **Design & spacing** — visual appearance, padding, colours, and layout options. Switching between Content and Design preserves any unapplied changes in the other view, so you do not lose work when moving between the two. ## Move, duplicate, and reorder sections From the section outline or directly in the inspector you can: - **Move up / Move down** — shift a section one position. - **Move to position** — jump a section to an exact position in the page. - **Duplicate** — copy a section in place. Moves show progress and failure feedback. Overlapping structural actions are prevented while a move is in progress. ## Secondary actions menu Less-used section actions — such as delete and certain reuse controls — are grouped in a menu to keep the inspector compact. Shared-block controls retain their shared-publication workflow. ## Search the section library When adding a new section, search the library by name or description. Page-type and singleton restrictions are preserved in search results. ## Design settings Appearance settings live under **Design** in the inspector. Grouped collection settings and scoped styles prevent text from being clipped and prevent duplicate dropdown arrows in select controls. ## Compact, neutral controls The editor uses compact, neutral controls throughout — replacing oversized toolbars. This leaves more space for editing content while keeping all common actions within reach.
